At CMC Steel Texas, we offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package that helps plan for the future as well as take care of today’s needs.

Stock Purchase Plan

  • Eligible to purchase shares in December of each year after completing 1 year of continuous active full-time service.
  • Participating employees pay 75% of the market price for shares and the company pays 25%.
  • Employees pay their share through convenient payroll deduction during the ensuing calendar year.

Profit Sharing Plan

  • As profits allow, each year the Board of Directors declares a profit sharing contribution equal to a stated percentage of employee’s fiscal year earnings.

401(k) Retirement Plan

  • A 401(k) Retirement Plan is available through a payroll deduction plan. Participating employees may elect to contribute 1% to 50% of their gross pay. Each year the Company’s match is reviewed by the Board of Directors.

Vacation Policy

  • Eligible on or after employment anniversary date and 1,600 hours worked in the preceding anniversary year.
Vacation Schedule:
  • 2 Weeks After 1 Year of Employment
  • 3 Weeks After 10 Years of Employment
  • 4 weeks after 20 years of employment

Educational Assistance

  • To encourage CMC Steel Texas employees to further their development and effectiveness on the job and to prepare for future advancement, CMC Steel Texas has developed an Educational Assistance Plan that will reimburse up to 100% of approved college, vocational or trade school classes taken by the employee.

Credit Union:

  • In recognition of a person’s need for regular, systematic savings, CMC Steel Texas has made available to its employees a Federally Chartered Credit Union and encourages its people to participate in this opportunity to save. For convenience, the Company provides for payroll deductions for both savings accounts and loan repayments. Low interest loans are also available to Credit Union members who have a good credit rating.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • CMC Steel Texas has developed an EAP for employees and their families who may need help with personal and/or family problems. The EAP is a CONFIDENTIAL assessment, counseling and referral service for employees. All information is kept strictly confidential between the individual and their counselor and is not reported to CMC Steel Texas’s management. All counseling offered within the EAP is provided at no cost to the employee.

Scholarship Program:

  • CMC Steel Texas awards scholarships to employees' children who graduate high school and enroll in an accredited university, college or technical/vocational school.

Health Care Plan

  • CMC Steel Texas offers a self-insured health care plan to help pay for short term medical and hospital care which employee's and their covered dependents may need, as well as to help shelter employee's from the financial burden of a catastrophic injury or illness.

Mail Order Prescription Program

  • The Mail Order Prescription Program is designed to cover prescribed maintenance or long term medications for employees enrolled in the Health Care Plan.  There are 3 tiers of pricing for a 90 day supply of medication.

Vision Reimbursement Plan

  • The Vision Plan is a Company program provided at no cost to the employee and covers two categories emphasizing preventive care:
    1. Preventive/Diagnostic Care
    2. Other Care – reimburses a percentage of all other vision costs to a set maximum amount for the employee and family.

Dental Care Plan

  • CMC Steel Texas offers a dental care plan that covers preventative and major services for employees and their covered dependents.  There are two plans to choose from.

  • Eligible for coverage after completing orientation period (90 days).
